Greg McGovern

As a corporate and transactional attorney at The Larson Firm, I believe my role is to understand my clients’ businesses and objectives and provide practical legal advice that helps them accomplish those goals. I focus my practice on mergers and acquisitions, ESOPs, and general corporate matters. I enjoy working through the legal and business considerations of a transaction and helping clients move from an idea to a successful closing. My experience clerking at a corporate law firm in Des Moines prior to joining The Larson Firm reinforced my interest in helping business owners and companies navigate significant transactions while keeping their broader business objectives in focus.

Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, I earned my B.A. in Business Law, cum laude, from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business in 2021. I then moved to Iowa to attend Drake University Law School, where I earned my J.D. with honors in 2026 and a Business Law Certificate. While at Drake, I served as a student attorney in the Drake Legal Clinic and was a member of Delta Theta Phi, serving as Alumni & Career Chair. I also studied abroad during the summer of 2024 in Nantes, France, with a focus in international law.

Away from the office, I enjoy playing guitar and traveling, and I am an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends.
